Heather Dubrow, star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has revealed how her LGBT children are thriving since the family’s move from Orange County to Beverly Hills. Dubrow and her husband, plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, relocated to Los Angeles last year to provide a more inclusive environment for their youngest children, Kat, 17, and Ace, 13.

In a recent episode of the Bravo series, Heather explained that the decision to move was driven by a desire to give their children better opportunities to flourish. "One of the main reasons we moved back to L.A. is because there's more inclusive opportunities for my kids," she said.

Kat, who came out as a lesbian two years ago, is excelling in her new environment and has embraced life in the city. "I would definitely rather live here," she told her parents, expressing that she enjoys the faster pace of Los Angeles and that her social life has significantly improved.

Ace, who is transgender, is also thriving. Heather shared how the move allowed him to make a fresh start in a more accepting and supportive environment. "For Ace, making a fresh start for him has been wonderful," she said.

Dubrow, who also has two older children, twins Max and Nick, aged 20, noted that her children's varying gender identities and sexualities have been a central focus for her and Terry. "Having four kids of different genders and different sexualities, Terry and I want to set them up for success when they leave the house," she shared.

Heather also spoke about how middle school can be a challenging time, especially for children who "deviate from the norm." However, she believes Ace is now "really finding his way."

The move to Los Angeles has not only benefited her children but also inspired Heather to get involved in LGBTQIA+ charities and advocacy work. She shared her approach to supporting her kids without overshadowing them, saying, "I want to protect my kids and I don’t ever want to tell their stories for them. It’s about letting them find their paths, while also not hiding them."

Heather’s candid reflections on her family life continue to resonate with viewers of The Real Housewives of Orange County, which airs Thursdays on Bravo.
