Tessori discuss trade, investment with US, Chinese envoys

Governor Kamran Khan Tessori held a meeting with the newly appointed US Consul General Scott Urbom at the Governor House.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, the role of diplomacy, boosting trade, increasing investment, and other matters of mutual interest.

Governor Tessori emphasised the significant role the US Consul General can play in promoting investment and trade in the province.

Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori expressed a strong desire to increase investment and trade with the United States. In response, US Consul General Urbom expressed admiration for the peaceful environment of the province and the sincerity of its people. He further added that Pakistan and the United States are natural allies and that the US wishes to see a prosperous Pakistan.

Separately, Governor Tessori hosted a meeting at the Governor House with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, to discuss a range of topics, including Pak-China bilateral relations, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and Chinese investments in Sindh.

Tessori emphasised the strength of the Pak-China friendship, describing it as "higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the sea." He highlighted the significance of the completion of the Karachi Circular Railway under the CPEC project for regional progress. Ambassador Jiang Zaidong mentioned that the Hexing Group is keen to invest in renewable energy and aims to produce inverters and batteries in Pakistan. Speaking to the media alongside the ambassador, Governor Tessorii pledged comprehensive measures to safeguard Chinese investors.
