Hulk Hogan criticized for comparing Chris Benoit tragedy to his racist controversy

Hulk Hogan faces backlash after comparing his past racist remarks to the Chris Benoit tragedy on Logan Paul's podcast.

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has stirred controversy among wrestling fans by comparing his past racist remarks to the Chris Benoit tragedy. 

Speaking on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Hogan reflected on forgiveness within the WWE fanbase, referencing both Benoit and his own experiences. 

Hogan suggested that if fans could forgive Benoit, they could extend similar forgiveness to him for his past mistakes.

The Benoit incident occurred in June 2007, when the former WWE star was involved in a double murder-suicide, killing his wife Nancy and their seven-year-old son Daniel before taking his own life. 

Hogan’s comparison to this event has drawn backlash, with many finding the analogy inappropriate.

Hogan was involved in a separate scandal in 2015 when recordings of him using racist language were made public. This led to WWE cutting ties with him and removing him from the Hall of Fame. He was reinstated in 2018 after issuing an apology.
