During a recent appearance on the comedy podcast Call Her Daddy, hosted by Alexandra Cooper, American singer Katy Perry delved into her relationship experiences, revealing her ‘type’ in men and some red flags she now avoids.

The 39-year-old also touched on her strict upbringing and how it influenced her views on relationships.

Reflecting on her childhood, Perry revealed, “I wasn’t even really allowed to acknowledge the opposite sex” while growing up, which shaped her early understanding of relationships. As she matured, she explained how her preferences evolved, leading her to distance herself from certain types of individuals.

“I’m no longer attracted to narcissists,” she told the host. Perry added, “Anyone that is constantly changing the goalpost or pulling the rug out from you emotionally, not it. Anyone that says that they know you better than you know yourself. Someone that just won’t help.”

In contrast, Perry described what she now seeks in a partner, highlighting that acts of service speak to her heart. “It’s like if I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done it all, and you’ve done all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors,” she said. “I mean, like literally. That is my love language. I don’t need a red Ferrari. I can buy a red Ferrari.”

Although she refrained from mentioning specific past relationships, Perry has been previously linked to actor-comedian Russell Brand and singer John Mayer. Currently, she is engaged to English actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
