The ongoing tension between ADOR and the director behind NewJeans' hit music videos has intensified following recent allegations.
Shin Woo Seok, known for directing NewJeans' popular music videos "ETA" and "Ditto," has accused ADOR of demanding that all related content be removed from the production house’s YouTube channel. However, the agency has strongly denied these claims, offering a detailed clarification.
On September 2, Shin Woo Seok took to social media to express his grievances. He alleged that a policy shift at ADOR, coinciding with changes in management, led to the agency requesting the removal of all NewJeans-related content from the Dolphin Kidnapping and Ban Hee Su YouTube channel.
The director emphasized that the channel primarily served as a portfolio archive and generated no revenue. He stated that the decision to post directors' cuts was driven by a desire to provide fans with high-quality content, not financial gain.
Shin Woo Seok further expressed disappointment over the apparent end of future collaborations with NewJeans, saying, “We had promised future projects with the NewJeans members, which we can no longer fulfill.
I’m deeply sorry to the team who worked tirelessly for months and, above all, to the fans who were eagerly waiting.”
In response to these allegations, ADOR issued an official statement denying the claim of a complete content removal request.
The agency clarified, "The director's cut of the ETA music video that Dolphin Kidnapping Group posted on their own SNS channel is an edited version that includes parts that were previously disagreed with by advertisers, and was posted without permission from the advertisers."
ADOR also highlighted that their policy on channel operations has remained unchanged and that the request was limited to stopping the posting of directors' cuts, not the removal of previously uploaded content.
