The Rawalpindi Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been disturbed by a malfunctioning lift at the stadium, causing significant inconvenience for media personnel and broadcasters.

The lift, which provides access to the media box located on the second floor, broke down during the match.

This has posed difficulties for both domestic and international media members who have faced challenges navigating the stairs.

According to international cricket regulations, facilities for players and officials are required to meet global standards, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has faced criticism for its oversight in this instance.

The stadium caretaker has assured that one of the two lifts is operational and that the malfunctioning lift will be repaired soon.

The disruption highlights ongoing issues with stadium infrastructure and raises concerns about the PCB's commitment to providing adequate facilities during international matches.

The final Test of the Pakistan vs Bangladesh two-match series is taking place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The match, originally scheduled to take place in Karachi was shifted to Rawalpindi due to ongoing renovations at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The first Test of the series was also played at the Rawalpindi Stadium.

Sources indicate that the decision to shift the second Test was made because of the ongoing upgrades at the Karachi venue in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Initially, the PCB had considered holding the match in Karachi without spectators, but the need to complete construction work before the Champions Trophy 2025 led to the relocation.

The renovation work at National Bank Stadium includes the removal of debris and the construction of new facilities.
