Gallup International appoints Bilal Gilani to newly elected board

The appointment was confirmed during the General Assembly held in Kuala Lumpur in May 2024

Gallup Pakistan has announced that its Executive Director, Bilal I Gilani, has been appointed to the Board of the Gallup International Association. The appointment was confirmed during the General Assembly held in Kuala Lumpur in May 2024.

Bilal I Gilani's addition to the Board is recognition of his vast experience and commitment to advancing public opinion research both in Pakistan and globally. His insights are expected to enhance Gallup International's efforts to understand and represent global public opinion.

During the General Assembly, a new Board and President were elected to lead the Gallup International Association in its mission to provide high-quality public opinion research worldwide. Michael Nitsche, owner of Gallup Austria, was elected as the new President.

The newly elected Board features distinguished professionals from around the world, including Johnny Heald from ORB International (UK), Arwa Daghir from IIACSS (Iraq), Torbjörn Sjöström from Gallup Nordic/Novus (Sweden), Ani Lortkipandize from GORBI (Georgia), Michael Nitsche from Gallup Austria (Austria), Kancho Stoychev from BBSS (Bulgaria), and Luis H. Cardona from SigmaDos (Spain).

These appointments underscore Gallup International Association’s commitment to fostering a diverse and experienced leadership team. "These board members bring a deep understanding of opinion polling to the table," a statement from Gallup International noted.

Bilal I Gilani, with over 15 years of experience, has served as the Executive Director of Gallup Pakistan since 2009. His expertise in conducting opinion research in Pakistan will be invaluable to the global body.

Gallup Pakistan anticipates contributing to the continued success and strategic direction of the Gallup International Association through Bilal I Gilani’s role on the Board.
