Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, is likely to secure a substantial share of the Muslim vote in the upcoming election, according to a recent survey by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). The survey, conducted between 25 and 27 August, shows that Harris could receive 29.4% of the Muslim vote.

However, the survey also suggests a tight race with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who is expected to garner 29.1% of the Muslim vote.

Despite Harris’s growing support within the Muslim community, 16.5% of Muslim voters remain undecided on their preferred candidate.

The survey reflects a significant shift in Muslim voter preferences compared to the last presidential election. In the previous election, President Joe Biden, as a candidate, received only 7.3% of Muslim voter support, while Stein had 36%.

The data indicates that Muslim voters are increasingly distancing themselves from both major political parties, with 60% of former Democratic supporters now considering voting for a third party.

Additionally, the survey highlights widespread dissatisfaction among Muslim voters, with 94% expressing discontent with President Biden's handling of issues, including the Gaza conflict.

The Muslim population in the United States is estimated to be around 2.5 million, making their vote a significant factor in the upcoming election.
