Moeed wins gold in World Military Games
Moeed Baloch, Pakistan's champion runner, who won two medals in the recently held World Military Cadet Games, received a grand welcome at Karachi Airport upon his return from Venezuela on Friday morning.
He was greeted by his coach Roma Altaf along with a large number of well wishers who escorted him from the airport to his residence in the form of a rally.
The lanky athlete won a gold medal in World Military Cadet Games, being staged in Caracas, Venezuela, clocking 48.20 in men's 400 meters heat.
It is pertinent to note that In 2018, Moeed Baloch who was 18 years old then, had won almost every race he had participated in at the national level.
His consistent run at the Pakistan Sports Board's (PSB) Inter-Provincial Athletics Championship earned him the nickname 'Baloch Bolt' after the Jamaican icon and fastest man with the time of 9.58 seconds to dash through 100 meters.
His coach, Roma Altaf took him under her wings in 2015 and started to train him at the National coaching centre and later Baloch took part in various athletics events.
Residing at Karachi's Shanti Nagar, Baloch is a national champion in both the 200-metre and 400-metre categories.
