The City Traffic Police has released a comprehensive traffic plan with diversions for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh second cricket test match, aiming to minimise disruptions to citizens' daily commutes.
The match, scheduled from August 30 to September 3 at the Double Road Cricket Stadium, will follow a comprehensive traffic plan with 367 traffic officers and personnel on special duty, including 8 DSPs, 40 Inspectors, and over 318 traffic wardens. This large-scale deployment aims to provide the best traffic facilities to citizens, ensure parking, and maintain traffic flow on alternate routes.
Special arrangements have been made to manage traffic flow on alternative routes during the cricket teams' movement, with parking facilities provided at five locations and a shuttle service offered by the district administration. To ensure smooth traffic flow, Murree Road will be completely closed from Faizabad to Double Road during the teams' arrival and departure.
Traffic diversions have been designated as follows: traffic from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to the Expressway, while traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will use 6th Road and Syedpur Road. Traffic coming from Ghousia Chowk will be redirected via Farooq Azam Road and Kari Road.
