Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has voiced her strong disapproval of recent media coverage focusing on her colleague Amar Khan's physical appearance rather than her professional accomplishments. In a passionate Instagram Story post, Saheefa condemned both the media outlets and public mindset that prioritise superficial attributes over talent and hard work.

"It's unbelievable that my friend and colleague's appearance is making headlines, not her craft, not her impressive achievements, but her looks (forehead)," Saheefa wrote, expressing her disbelief at the situation. She then pointedly asked, "What a nation we are, progressing so much, right?" The sarcasm in her rhetorical question highlights her frustration with the perceived regression in media priorities and public discourse.

Saheefa went on to emphasise Amar's dedication to her craft and the years of hard work that have led to her current success. "Amar has dedicated years to studying her craft and has achieved everything through sheer hard work," she stated. "She writes, directs, and acts, yet none of this is considered 'news.' But her forehead? That's what they focus on."

The actor's comments shed light on a broader issue within the entertainment industry and media landscape, where women's appearances often overshadow their professional achievements. Saheefa's frustration is palpable as she slams both the public and the media for their misplaced focus.

"As much as the comment sections are filled with illiteracy and ignorance, publishing houses and media portals are no better," she continued, calling out the media's role in perpetuating this problem. She urged news outlets to exercise more discretion in their reporting, stating, "They should be more discerning about what they choose to report as news."

Saheefa's impassioned plea highlights the responsibility that media organisations bear in shaping public discourse. By choosing to report on an actor's physical features rather than her professional accomplishments, these outlets contribute to a culture that devalues women's skills and talents in favour of superficial attributes.

"There's absolutely no need to add fuel to the fire," she concluded, suggesting that such reporting only exacerbates existing issues of objectification and shallow judgment in society.

Saheefa returned to the acting scene earlier this year after a hiatus of four years with Rafta Rafta. Back in February prior to its release, the star took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her comeback project as she held a script with enthusiasm and positivity.

In a note, she expressed her elation, saying, "I feel so good that I'm not crying this time." Saheefa reflected on her previous roles where emotional scenes were predominant, stating that the new character mirrors her real-life personality, offering a refreshing change.
