Police Records: CCPO bans use of lead pencils

CCPO said the ban would help curb chances of tampering with the record.

LAHORE:

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir on Friday announced a ban on the use of lead pencils for registration of first investigation reports (FIRs).

He said the ban would help  curb chances of tampering with the record.

Following court orders on this regard, CCPO Tahir has ordered all police stations in the city to write FIRs with ballpoint pens.

He has also ordered police officials not to write the daily journal with lead pencils. He directed the divisional superintendents of police to monitor police stations in this regard.

He said officers violating the directive will be suspended from service.
