Academic collaboration: Indian academics depart today

The six-member delegation of the Indian university teachers on a one-week visit to Lahore will return to India on Saturday (today). The visit was organised by the Foundation for Promotion of Academic Collaboration to enhance academic cooperation between the two countries.  The teachers from four universities, the Indira Gandhi National Open University, the Delhi University, the Pondicherry University and the Jamia Millia Islamia, were invited by the Kinnaird College for Women and the Punjab University (PU) as the Indian inter-university delegation. They also visited the Government College University, the Virtual University and the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Prof Mujahid Kamran, the PU vice chancellor (VC), said that such meetings reflect the cordial ties between the academic communities in the two countries. KC principal Prof Rukhsana David said KC was pleased to host the delegation.


Prof Vijay Kapur, the Indira Gandhi National Open University vice chancellor, who was leading the delegation said cross border dialogue between academic community of both countries should continue.
