The Sindh High Court, hearing a bail application of Zubair Baloch, the brother of notorious gang war chief Uzair Baloch, in the case of murder of three persons including Arshad Pappu, issued renewed notices to the complainant.
The petitioner's lawyer argued that Zubair Baloch had been in jail for 12 years and, therefore, bail should be granted to him. However, Rangers Prosecutor Rana Khalid took the stand that the accused is employing delaying tactics in the trial court, causing the case to become deadlocked.
Khalid emphasised that official witnesses are present in the court on every date, and Zubair has already been identified in the identification parade.
The court responded by issuing a fresh notice and requested for a progress report from the trial court on September 12.
According to the police, former MNA Shah Jahan Baloch, Zakir Dada, and others have been named in the murder case. The accused are charged with terrorism, kidnapping, and killing Arshad Pappu, Yasir Arafat, and Shera Pathan, key figures in the Lyari gang war, in 2013. The case was registered at the Kalakot police station.
