Youth kills uncle over drugs dispute
An 18-year-old boy allegedly killed his 60-year-old maternal uncle for stopping him from doing drugs in Ahmad Purah, Muridke.
A police spokesperson said the victim, Shabbir Ahmed, was a fruit vendor.
Shabbir was forbidding his nephew, Hassan, from using drugs at home, which led Hassan to severely injure Shabbir with a knife before fleeing the scene.
Shabbir was transferred from Muridke THQ Hospital to Lahore Mayo Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case based on the complaint of Shabbir's brother, Zulfiqar, and are now searching for the suspect.
Meanwhile, in Muridke, despite four days having passed, the police were unable to recover mobile phones belonging to Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and over a dozen other citizens.
The police have faced failures even after arresting more than two dozen pickpockets.
According to details, on Monday night, during the funeral prayers of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain's elder brother Rana Afzal, mobile phones of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal and over a dozen other citizens were stolen.
The police have yet to recover the phones or catch the actual pickpockets. However, the police have apprehended more than a dozen pickpockets but have not achieved success. The police have registered a case and are continuing their search for the culprits.
