Fans are once again analyzing the complex relationship between Drake and The Weeknd after the former released new content on his 100 Gigs website on August 25, 2024.

Among the updates was a 56-second clip from Drake’s 2013 OVO Fest, where fans noticed a seemingly frosty interaction between the two Canadian artists.

In the video, Drake is seen welcoming everyone backstage, but fans quickly pointed out that he appeared to initially ignore The Weeknd, only acknowledging him toward the end of the clip. This subtle moment has led many to speculate that tension between the two may have started as early as 2013.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one person tweeting, "The energy between Drake and The Weeknd is off here and this is 2013," while another added, "This is when Drake stopped f**king with The Weeknd for sure."

The reactions didn’t stop there. One fan remarked, "The Weeknd got the vibes of someone’s little brother that their mom made them bring," highlighting the awkwardness between the two artists.

Another user commented on Drake’s behavior, saying, "Drake is so corny. I’m glad The Weeknd didn’t sign and ended up being as big as he is."

Others echoed these sentiments, with one fan noting, "Drake a slimey guy. Peep how he cut the footage immediately after he acknowledged The Weeknd and was about to dap him up."

The tension between the two artists has been a topic of discussion for years, with their once-close relationship turning sour over time.

Their fallout became more evident in recent years, especially after The Weeknd, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, was featured on tracks in Future and Metro Boomin's 2024 albums that were filled with disses aimed at Drake.

In response, Drake addressed the rumored feud in his songs Push Ups and Family Matters, directly mentioning The Weeknd by his real name, Abel.

The history between Drake and The Weeknd traces back to 2010, when Drake introduced the rising star to his fans.

The two collaborated on multiple tracks, including the hit "Crew Love" from Drake’s 2011 album *Take Care*.

However, their relationship began to strain when The Weeknd chose to sign with Republic Records instead of Drake’s OVO Sound in 2012.

The tension escalated over the years, with rumors and diss tracks further widening the rift.
