CSS aspirant detained in Islamabad for selling cannabis

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested a CSS asspirant, for allegedly supplying drugs, including "cannabis," to educational institutions and hostels.

According to the ANF spokesperson, efforts have been intensified to curb drug trafficking in educational institutions and hostels, leading to this significant arrest.

Authorities reported that an intelligence-based operation was conducted near a private student hostel in Islamabad, resulting in the arrest of an individual from Chagai, who was found in possession of 120 grams of cannabis.

The suspect was reportedly involved in supplying drugs to a major educational institution and hostel in Islamabad.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested individual was educated and preparing for the CSS exam. The accused admitted to selling drugs to university and hostel students.

The suspect has been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are ongoing.

Last week, drugs worth over Rs20 million were seized in Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) operations, Express News reported.

According to ANF spokesperson, anti-drug smuggling operations are ongoing across the country. During four different operations, 234 kilogrammes of drugs worth over Rs20 million were recovered, and five suspects were arrested.

On the M1 Motorway in Islamabad, 123.6 kilogrammes of opium and 108 kilogrammes of hashish were seized from a vehicle, and two suspects were arrested.

At Kamalpur Interchange in Faisalabad, 1.5 kilogrammes of heroin were recovered from a woman, while 400 grams of ice (crystal meth) were seized from a suspect near Hub River Road, Karachi.

Additionally, 200 grams of hashish were recovered from a suspect near a university in Karachi.

Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have begun.
