KATSEYE, a newly formed global girl group, is making waves in the music industry.

Following the release of their debut mini-album "SIS," the group has experienced a rapid rise on various music charts. Their success is further amplified by the Netflix documentary "Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE," which has garnered international attention.

Released on the 21st, "Pop Star Academy" is an eight-part documentary that chronicles the journey of KATSEYE from its inception. The group, created through a collaboration between HYBE, the company behind BTS, and Geffen Records under Universal Music Group (UMG) in the U.S., is already making a significant impact in the global pop market.

The documentary showcases the unique path taken by KATSEYE, with members hailing from different countries, including South Korea, the United States, and Switzerland. These artists underwent rigorous training through the K-pop system before debuting in the U.S., a move that has been lauded as a "new blueprint for K-pop globalization." The series has attracted substantial interest from major international media outlets.

Time magazine offered an analysis of the documentary, noting that it provides more than just an introduction to KATSEYE. It delves into the decision-making processes of one of the world’s largest pop music companies, emphasizing the "trainee system" that distinguishes Korean idol pop stars from their Western counterparts.

The documentary highlights the high-performance standards and potential required for global stardom.

The Hollywood Reporter, a leading American pop culture publication, emphasized the documentary's focus on KATSEYE’s "diversity." It highlighted the members' journey of gaining musical inspiration and insight, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their development.

The documentary has also resonated deeply with fans, particularly in scenes depicting the sacrifices made by the young members who left their families to pursue their dreams.

Notable moments include Missy Paramo, T&D Senior Program Manager, expressing her newfound desire to have a daughter after witnessing the girls’ growth, and casting manager Michelle’s discovery of member Manon on social media, recognizing her star potential immediately.
