Meryl Streep and Martin Short spark dating rumours after 'Only Murders in the Building' premiere

Fans are speculating about a potential romance between Streep and Short after their recent red carpet moments.

Meryl Streep and Martin Short have ignited fresh dating rumours following their appearance at the premiere of Only Murders in the Building season four. 

The duo, known for their strong on-screen chemistry, was spotted sharing several sweet moments on the red carpet, including holding hands, which quickly caught the attention of fans and the media alike.

The affectionate display between the two legendary actors led fans to speculate that there might be something more than just friendship between them. Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) was buzzing with fan reactions. One user expressed excitement, saying, "it's like that romcom movie." 

Another jokingly remarked, "When you're older, holding hands doesn't imply any relationship outside of steadying each other so neither one of you fall and break a hip. But if they really are dating, AWESOME!"

This isn’t the first time rumours have circulated about a possible romance between Streep and Short. Last year, similar speculations arose after the pair were seen in close proximity at the Golden Globe Awards. 

Both actors, however, denied any romantic connection at the time, with Martin Short clarifying they were "just very close friends," a statement echoed by Streep's representatives.
