Daniel Craig donates iconic James Bond motorbikes to support RNLI’s 200th anniversary

Craig donated two James Bond-themed motorbikes to RNLI to raise funds for their 200th anniversary.

Actor Daniel Craig has made a significant contribution to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) by donating two limited-edition motorbikes themed after his iconic James Bond role. 

The motorbikes, inspired by the motorcycles featured in the 25th Bond film, No Time to Die, will be auctioned off to raise funds for the charity.

Craig, who grew up near the RNLI station in Hoylake, Wirral, gifted the 007 Triumph bikes to commemorate the charity's 200th anniversary. The auction, organized by Bonhams, is set to take place at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in Stafford on 12 and 13 October.

In addition to the motorbikes, the winning bidder will have the exclusive opportunity to ride with James Bond stunt coordinator Lee Morrison and stunt double Paul Edmondson.

Craig, who portrayed the iconic British spy in five films between 2006 and 2021, has long been an advocate for the RNLI. He previously participated in a campaign supporting Hoylake station and joined a ride-along with a lifeboat crew in Ramsgate.

"The RNLI has been close to my heart all my life since growing up near the RNLI station at Hoylake," Craig said. "I have incredible memories of going afloat with the RNLI crew at Ramsgate to experience first-hand what it’s like to be part of the organisation that has saved over 146,000 lives since starting up over 200 years ago."

Jayne George, RNLI's director of funding, highlighted the importance of this contribution, stating that the funds raised "will enable us to invest in vital training and equipment for our lifesavers as well as helping us to deliver water safety advice to the public so we can prevent people getting in trouble at sea."
