19 die in Punjab road crashes

At least 19 people died, whereas 1,332 were injured in 1,226 road traffic crashes (RTCs) in Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Of the victims, 563 people with serious injuries were shifted to hospitals, while 769 with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites by Rescue Medical Teams.

Official data showed that 724 adult and 64 underage drivers, 136 pedestrians and 491 passengers were among the victims of the road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 262 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 286 people, followed by 85 in Faisalabad with 103 victims and 84 in Multan with 103 victims.

The data showed that the victims of the road traffic accidents included 1,086 males and 265 females, while 210 of them were under 18 years of age, 750 between 18 and 40 years, and 391 above 40 years.

According to the data 1,116 motorbikes, 62 auto-rickshaws, 126 cars, 23 vans, 10 buses, 32 trucks and 87 other types of vehicles and carts were involved in the road traffic accidents across the province on Saturday.
