Daniel Craig donates James Bond motorbikes to RNLI for 200th anniversary auction

Daniel Craig has donated two James Bond-themed motorbikes to the RNLI, for the charity’s 200th anniversary.

 

Daniel Craig, best known for his portrayal of James Bond, has generously donated two limited edition motorbikes inspired by the 25th Bond film, No Time to Die, to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The donation, made in celebration of the RNLI's 200th anniversary, will see the bikes auctioned to raise funds for the organization. The highest bidder will not only acquire the bikes but also get the unique opportunity to ride with James Bond stunt co-ordinator Lee Morrison and stunt double Paul Edmondson.

Craig, who grew up near the Hoylake RNLI station in Wirral, expressed his long-standing connection to the charity, saying, "The RNLI has been close to my heart all my life since growing up near the RNLI station at Hoylake." His involvement with the RNLI has been ongoing, having previously participated in campaigns to support the lifeboat station and experiencing a ride-along with the Ramsgate crew.

Jayne George, the RNLI’s director of funding, highlighted the impact of Craig's donation, noting that the proceeds from the auction will significantly contribute to vital training and equipment for the lifesavers, as well as support the RNLI’s water safety initiatives.

The auction will be held at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in Stafford on 12 and 13 October, with Bonhams handling the arrangements.
