With the iPhone 16 series launch anticipated next month, camera specifications for all four models have been leaked. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will maintain their dual-camera setup, now arranged vertically, with the primary camera remaining at 48MP.
Apple is anticipated to reveal the iPhone 16 series next month, potentially on September 10th.
However, the ultrawide lens will receive a faster f/2.2 aperture for enhanced low-light photography, and macro photography will be supported for the first time on non-Pro models.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will both feature a 5x telephoto camera, a feature previously exclusive to the Pro Max. The main camera on the Pro models remains unchanged, but the ultrawide camera will see a significant upgrade to a 48MP pixel-binning sensor, allowing for improved low-light performance and the ability to shoot 48MP ProRAW photos.
Additionally, Apple is rumored to introduce a new JPEG-XL photo format and support for 3K video at 120fps with Dolby Vision on the Pro models. A new capacitive Capture Button will be featured on all iPhone 16 models, offering force-sensitive half-press and trackpad-like gestures for zoom and other actions customizable by third-party apps.
