Oprah Winfrey's private letter to Donald Trump resurfaces following Kamala Harris endorsement at DNC

Trump fans trolled Oprah after she endorsed Kamala Harris by reposting an old letter and photos with Harvey Weinstein.

Donald Trump supporters trolled Oprah Winfrey after her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention.

Winfrey, making a surprise appearance in Chicago, urged voters to support Harris in the 2024 election, emphasising "decency and respect" as key values. She called on Americans to "choose the sweet promise of tomorrow over the bitter return to yesterday."

In response, the Trump campaign’s "War Room" X account resurfaced an old handwritten letter Winfrey sent to Trump in 2000, where she expressed admiration for him after reading an excerpt from his book, ‘The America We Deserve.’ Winfrey wrote, "Too bad we’re not running for office. What A TEAM!" Trump supporters used this letter to contrast Winfrey’s past praise with her current criticism of Trump.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer pointed out the letter’s final line, suggesting that Winfrey once wanted to be Trump’s running mate.

Additionally, Trump supporters circulated old pictures of Winfrey with Harvey Weinstein, referencing her association with the disgraced movie mogul and labelling her "Hollywood's favorite Madame."

These actions were seen as attempts to undermine Oprah Winfrey’s endorsement of Harris by highlighting her previous support for Donald Trump.
