KARACHI:

A delegation of journalists from Lahore called on Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon at his office and praised the ongoing government projects in the province especially in the underdeveloped areas including Thar.

They praised the Sindh government's efforts for making the clean drinking water available in Thar and Nangar Parkar and said that the negative propaganda by certain quarters had presented a distorted picture of these areas.

Sindh senior minister briefed the delegation on the Sindh government efforts in the energy, health, and other sectors.

Sharjeel stated that the Sindh government has invested billions of rupees in airports, roads, and other infrastructure projects to support the Thar Coal project. Thar's coal reserves cannot only meet the country's energy needs but could also allow us to export electricity for the next 200 years and in this regard the Sindh government is taking measures for the benefit of the country. He said, "Our aim is to provide relief to people by supplying them affordable electricity."
