Adam Sandler has confirmed that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler announced the news during an appearance on The Tonight Show on August 20, where he praised Kelce, calling him a "stud" and "so funny." The sequel to the 1996 golf comedy is set to begin filming in New Jersey in a few weeks.

Kelce, a two-time Super Bowl champion, had previously expressed his desire to be part of the film on his New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. During the podcast, Travis joked about being willing to take any role in the movie, even as an extra, saying, "I’ll do anything in the movie. I’ll be part of it any way I possibly can." Sandler's confirmation fulfills what had been a fan-driven wish after Kelce was spotted wearing a Happy Gilmore hat shortly after the sequel was announced.

In addition to his cameo in Happy Gilmore 2, Kelce is expanding his presence in television and film. He is set to appear in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX horror series, Grotesquerie, and will host the Amazon Prime game show reboot Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?. He is also reportedly in talks for his first lead role in the action-comedy Loose Cannons.

Sandler, who is returning to his iconic role in Happy Gilmore 2, expressed his excitement about Kelce’s involvement, noting that audiences would "love him in real life." Filming for the movie will begin soon, just as Kelce returns to the field for the final Chiefs pre-season game.
