Halle Berry recently opened up about her experience working with Pierce Brosnan on the set of the 2002 James Bond film "Die Another Day."

In a video interview with Wired, Berry reflected on how Brosnan, who portrayed the iconic 007 character for the last time in the film, positively impacted her view of men. Berry, who played the role of Bond girl Jinx, described Brosnan as the ultimate gentleman.

“He will always be my Bond, always,” Berry expressed during the interview. “I’m a Pierce Brosnan fan. He restored my faith in men on that movie. There couldn’t be a human who is more of a gentleman than Pierce Brosnan.”

When asked about her overall experience with the James Bond franchise, Berry shared that while appearing in a Bond film was not initially on her wish list, she felt honored to be a part of such a significant piece of cinematic history.

“Bond wasn’t on my wish list, no, not to be in one, but I loved the movies, always. Having been in one, I feel like I’m a part of cinematic history. … Those movies are iconic. They will forever be a part of our history, and I’m really honored to have been a part of one, especially with Pierce.”

Berry’s portrayal of Jinx became a fan favorite, and at one point, there were discussions about a spinoff film centered around her character. However, according to Variety, the project was shelved when MGM hesitated over the proposed $80 million budget, much to the disappointment of producer Barbara Broccoli.

Berry later commented on the missed opportunity, stating, “It was very disappointing. It was ahead of its time. Nobody was ready to sink that kind of money into a Black female action star. They just weren’t sure of its value. That’s where we were then.”

Berry is currently starring in the Netflix action film "The Union" alongside Mark Wahlberg.
