T-Series and producer Ravi Bhagchandka are set to bring the life of cricket icon Yuvraj Singh to the silver screen with an upcoming biopic.

The film, tentatively titled "Six Sixes," will potray the legendary journey of the 42-year-old cricketer, from his early days as a budding talent to his heroic performances in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup, where he was named Player of the Tournament.

The biopic will also touch upon his courageous battle with cancer, which saw him make a triumphant return to cricket before retiring in 2019.

Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam Singh, expressed her pride and excitement about the project.

"Yuvraj's story is one of immense resilience and triumph. His journey will undoubtedly inspire the younger generation as they learn about his struggles and successes. I am incredibly proud of him, not just for his achievements on the field but for the way he has faced life's challenges with unwavering determination," she shared in an interview with The Indian Express.

The film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, known for his work on films like Kabir Singh and Animal, and Ravi Bhagchandka, who previously produced the acclaimed Sachin Tendulkar documentary, Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

The casting for Yuvraj’s character is still under wraps, but Shabnam Singh has already expressed her preference for Sidharth Malhotra to portray her son on screen.

In a statement, Yuvraj expressed his honour and excitement about the biopic.

"Cricket has been my greatest love and source of strength through all the highs and lows. I hope this film inspires others to overcome their challenges and pursue their dreams with passion," he said.

The announcement was made via T-Series' official social media handles, generating significant buzz among fans.

The film is expected to recreate some of Yuvraj’s most iconic moments, including his historic six sixes in an over against England during the 2007 T20 World Cup, and his match-winning performances in the 2011 World Cup.

Bhushan Kumar emphasised the significance of Yuvraj’s life story, stating, "Yuvraj Singh’s life is a compelling narrative of resilience, triumph, and passion".

"His journey from a promising cricketer to a cricketing hero, and then to a hero in real life, is truly inspiring. I am thrilled to bring a story that needs to be told and heard through the big screen."
