Joy Behar and Chris Rock were seen at a Hamptons fundraiser hosted by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, where tickets reached up to $150,000.
Although presidential candidate Kamala Harris did not attend the event, Walz reportedly made a strong impression on the crowd.
The fundraiser took place at the Southampton residence of tech power couple Stuart Butterfield, CEO of Slack, and Jen Rubio, CEO of Away.
Page Six notes that Rock spent much of the afternoon with former “Saturday Night Live” producer Marci Klein.
Mumford & Sons provided the musical entertainment, and the menu featured chicken sandwiches and lobster rolls, according to reports.
An attendee described the event as having “high, positive energy.”
This atmosphere was in stark contrast to President Joe Biden's visit to the Hamptons in late June, right before he withdrew from the race. Biden’s appearance followed a disastrous debate against Donald Trump, which sent his campaign into a downward spiral — and a Democratic insider at the time referred to the Hamptons visit as a “Band-Aid on a bullet wound.”
Ticket prices ranged from $6,600 for limited availability to $150,000 for hosting the event.
Despite the presence of wealthy attendees, Walz was described as “humble and a genuine dude. He is the nicest man ever,” according to a source quoted by Page Six.
A source informed Page Six that Harris chose not to attend the East End event because the summer season is nearly over, but she plans to attend a larger NYC fundraiser this fall.
However, Harris's husband, Doug Emhoff, is expected to attend more events in the Hamptons later this month, including one on August 31 with Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, as indicated by a DNC invitation obtained by Page Six.
