Human remains were found in a vacant plot in the Sundar area. The police sent the remains for a post-mortem examination and launched an investigation into the case.
According to Sundar Police Station SHO Rana Mujahid Hussain, the remains were discovered inside a plastic bag.
The bones were found in a severely decomposed state and it is suspected that the victim was killed elsewhere before the body was discarded in the plot.
Forensic teams, along with the police, collected evidence from the scene to aid in the investigation. A case has been registered and a DNA test will be conducted to identify the victim and potentially trace the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, Lahore police arrested two suspects, Ashiq and Shahbaz, for the murder of their 32-year-old cousin, Fauzia.
The suspects allegedly shot Fauzia and disposed of her body in fields. The alleged reason behind the murder was suspicion that the victim was involved with a man. Police apprehended the suspects from Thokar Niaz Beg.
