Chappell Roan’s rise to fame is on fire.

The singer-songwriter, who has rapidly ascended to pop stardom, has hit a new milestone by reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 Chart with her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. This position is just behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which remains at the top for a 15th non-consecutive week.

With a 13% boost in sales, bringing her total to 72,000 more units sold, Midwest Princess has achieved its highest weekly placement yet. This marks a new peak for the album in its third consecutive week on the charts. Since its late September release last year, the album has consistently gained popularity, notably entering the Top 10 the week of June 22 and climbing each week since.

The current Billboard 200 also features Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft, and Charli XCX’s summer hit Brat.

Roan’s meteoric rise has been a decade in the making, driven by viral social media moments and significant performances. She has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, Coachella, Governors Ball Music Festival, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lollapalooza, and more. Earlier this year, she also opened for Olivia Rodrigo.

Recently, Roan made headlines for calling out her VIP section at Outside Lands for not dancing during her set, expressing her frustration with their lack of enthusiasm.

The “Red Wine Supernova” artist is now nominated for Best New Artist at the VMAs, scheduled for September 11.
