Referring to the alleged conversation between PTI's Raoof Hasan and an Indian journalist, the PML-N led federal government has accused the former ruling party of trying to destabilize the country in collusion with Pakistan's enemies.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said the PTI information secretary's "provocative and alarming communications" with an Indian journalist had once again exposed the party's anti-state agenda.
"The foreign-funded party, which previously harmed the country's foreign policy through the cipher scandal, is now endangering the nation's integrity and survival by relying on their foreign masters. The said Indian journalist is known for harboring anti-Pakistan sentiments," he said.
Tarar stated that Hasan has represented PTI's mindset through his interactions with the Indian journalist, promoting conspiracies against Pakistan's integrity and survival.
"Now it is clear why the attacks on May 9 were carried out," he said, in a reference to the riots sparked last year after the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan from the premises of a court.
He said the PTI's social media cell in Islamabad was a major hub for connections with anti-state elements. Through this cell, a campaign was also run against the Pakistan Army and its leadership, which is now being linked to India.
"Talking about a bloody revolution in Pakistan means that the PTI is pursuing an agenda sponsored by India. It has already been revealed through investigations that the PTI received foreign funding from Indians abroad.
"Now, the connections between PTI leaders and an Indian journalist further prove that they are running an anti-Pakistan campaign at the behest of enemy forces," he claimed.
Tarar stated that the foreign-funded group has crossed all boundaries of enmity against the country. There is no longer any doubt that their true objective was to harm Pakistan's national interests and its military. These people are sitting in Pakistan, fulfilling India's agenda. They even brought back terrorists who attacked Pakistan just to further this Indian agenda, he added.
Referring to the recent arrest of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief General (retired) Faiz Hameed on various allegations by the military authorities, he said Gen Faiz was also a key pawn of the PTI founder and played a significant role in creating instability in the country.
He claimed that it was the former ISI chief who informed Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi about what was happening behind the scene. "Bushra Bibi [who has a reputation of being a spiritual woman] then passed on that information to Imran as her revelations," he said.
"The nation has now come to know the truth that the so-called spiritual guide's confidant was actually Faiz. The "Faiz"spiritual blessingswasn't from the spiritual guide, but rather it was "Faiz Hameed".
"The connections between Faiz and Niazi [Imran Khan] also trace back to Niazi's home, specifically to Bushra, who played a central role in this collaboration," he alleged.
The minister claimed that the Faiz-Niazi-Bushra alliance caused significant harm to the country for their own nefarious purposes.
"This alliance also promoted an anti-military narrative to incite both retired and serving officers against the leadership. Furthermore, they attempted to create the impression that there was confusion or division within the Pakistan Army," he added.
Tarar on July 15 announced that the ruling coalition had decided to impose a ban on the PTI and to start high treason proceedings against former premier Imran Khan, former president Arif Alvi and former deputy speaker Qasim Suri.
This announcement had come days after the Supreme Court with a majority vote declared the PTI eligible for reserved seats in the national and provincial legislatures.
The apex court had also directed the PTI-backed independent lawmakers, who are sitting in NA under the banner of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), to submit affidavits of their party affiliation within the 15 days of the judgment.
