The City Traffic Police (CTP) has announced that next week will be observed as Awareness Week for Preventing Harassment of Female Drivers.
The CTP spokesperson, Benish Fatima, said, "Harassment of women will not be tolerated at all. In developed countries, strict legislation prevents anyone from even thinking about harassing a woman.
The public is requested to support the campaign and assist the traffic police. We need to work together to make roads safer for our daughters, sisters, and every woman in society."
The Women on Wheels project aims to make women more confident and independent. For social and societal development, the role of women is as crucial as that of men. Under the supervision of Rawalpindi City Traffic Police, driving schools have also been established where women receive can learn how to drive cars and ride motorcycles.
Citizens can seek guidance from the City Traffic Police's social media. "Empowering women is essential for national development," said Benish.
