ISLAMABAD:

An illegally constructed plaza was sealed in Gulrez area by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).

The occupation mafia constructed an illegal commercial building without obtaining approval or NOC. An operation was conducted against the illegal, commercial building with the cooperation of the Airport police station team. On the instructions of DG RDA, the illegal commercial building and supplementary map of the building plan were sealed and confiscated, and an FIR was registered against the occupation mafia.

The RDA administration had first issued notices to the property owners. The illegal plaza had been constructed without approval of the site plan. The plot was allegedly registered in the name of another owner, known as Sardar Yasir Rashid.

After another party illegally occupied the plot, they constructed a building at the location without getting a site plan approved. Subsequently, the RDA administration teamed up with the police and sealed the building.

Sardar Yasir Rasheed, the owner of the kanal-size plot appreciated the performance of the RDA and Airport police.

He said that the plaza is illegal and had been sealed in the past too, but the occupation mafia is so powerful that they had de-sealed it illegally on their own and resumed construction of the building.

"The RDA administration took vigorous action and sealed it again," he acknowledged.
