Projects stalled due to paucity of funds: minister

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that numerous projects were stalled due to a shortage of funds, stressing the need for funding from the PSDP for research purposes.

He said that the total budget for the sector was currently set at Rs300 million. The minister was providing a briefing in the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Food Security and Research, chaired by Syed Tariq Hussain.

During the session, several committee members lamented that despite multiple meetings and proposals, there was a lack of tangible progress. The issues concerning fertiliser prices also came under discussion.
