Yo Yo Honey Singh, the Indian rap sensation whose name alone is a headline, has just unveiled a thrilling twist for his upcoming album in an Instagram post.
Singh, whose birth name is Hirdesh Singh, is promising a cultural mashup that's going to have everyone's heads bobbing, set for release on August 26. Titled Glory, this 18-track spectacle promises to be a sonic rollercoaster, blending genres and bending musical norms. It's not just a celebration of Singh's career but a globe-trotting adventure of sound, and Pakistan is firmly in the mix.
Enter Wahab Bugti and Sahiban, two of Pakistan's recent singing sensations, who are set to bring their distinctive flair to Singh's latest masterpiece. Bugti, famous for his Coke Studio hit Kana Yaari, teams up with Italian singer Laïoung for the track Beeba. Meanwhile, Sahiban, one half of the acclaimed Marvi-Sahiban duo, joins forces with rapper Handles for a track that promises to shake things upRap God.
Speaking to Telegraph India, Singh declared, "Glory is like a musical diary of my journey over the years, blending sounds and styles that defy limits. This album is all about crossing borders and setting new trends. Dropping it on the 10th anniversary of Desi Kalakaar adds an extra layer of magic. Trust me, this is going to be a musical explosion."
The inclusion of Bugti and Sahiban underscores the album's theme of breaking barriers and forging new paths in music. Coke Studio's Xulfi, who's no stranger to blending diverse sounds, celebrated this fusion of talents. "Cheers to the new timelines art can create. Infinite love to the bridges being made," he enthused in an IG post, highlighting the significance of having artists from Sibi, Balochistan, and Thar, Sindh represented on such a global stage.
