The 78th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with great enthusiasm and national pride in Rawalpindi, in line with the fervour seen across the country.
The city was alive with both official ceremonies and private events, each aimed at commemorating the historic day. Streets and buildings were adorned with hundreds of green crescent flags, and the air was filled with patriotic songs, reflecting the joy and spirit of independence.
Children played an active role in the celebrations, embodying the patriotic spirit. A notable example was twin sisters Manahil Rafi Sheikh and Muntaha Rafi Sheikh from Chaklala Scheme-1, who captured attention with their unique Independence Day attire and by proudly holding the national flag.
Their participation highlighted the younger generation's enthusiasm for the national celebration.
A key event of the day was the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Headquarters, where senior officers and personnel gathered to honor the occasion. The ceremony was led by the Director of ANF, who, along with the officers and personnel, hoisted the national flag and offered a salute, symbolising their dedication to the country. Similarly, the Rawalpindi Police and Rescue 1122 marked the day by decorating their buildings with electric lights, contributing to the festive atmosphere.
CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani and SSP Operations extended their congratulations to the force and the nation, encouraging them to contribute to public security.
The National Highway and Motorway Police celebrated the 78th Independence Day with equal enthusiasm. Special rallies were organised on national highways across the country, with the main flag-hoisting ceremony held at the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters in Islamabad.
The celebrations were led by DIG Asghar Ali, who commenced the event by hoisting the national flag, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony that added to the joyous atmosphere.
In a special message to the nation Motorway Police IG Salman Chaudhry extended his heartfelt congratulations to both the citizens and the officers on Independence Day. DIG Asghar Ali, during the ceremony, distributed gifts among children, highlighting the importance of the younger generation in the nation's future.
