Saudi gamer connects 444 consoles to a single TV, setting new record

Ibrahim Al-Nasser innovative approach was highlighted and certified by the Guinness World Record

RIYADH:

A Saudi Arabian gamer has secured a Guinness World Record by connecting 444 video game consoles to a single television. Ibrahim Al-Nasser, from Riyadh, explained that he uses an Excel spreadsheet to manage the various switch boxes and converters necessary to play each console.

Al-Nasser's setup, which includes more than 30 RCA switchers, over 12 HDMI switchers, and a variety of other connection methods, was developed out of necessity. "After a while, I noticed that I had a big stack of gaming consoles that I couldn't play," he said. "The TV ports are limited, and if I wanted to play, I could either unplug the existing console or keep everything and add more switchers and converters."

 

The idea to connect all his consoles to one TV and pursue a world record came naturally to him. "By adding more switchers, the idea came to my mind to connect all of the gaming consoles I have to the TV, then contact Guinness World Records because this project is unique."

Managing the vast array of cables was a crucial aspect of the project. "A very important thing, if you notice here, the cables are almost hidden," he noted. "I used all the tools available in the market to organize the cables. It's not just about playing; it's like a museum, and that's why this setup and this record took so much time."

 

Al-Nasser's collection features a wide range of consoles, including a Magnavox Odyssey, an Xbox 360, a Nintendo Switch, a Wii U, and rare items like the Super A'Can. Despite the diversity, he holds one console in particularly high regard. "For me, the best gaming console of all time, number one always, forever, is the Sega Genesis," he said.
