President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for Umar Farooq, the whistleblower who brought the Toshakhana case to light.
Farooq, an overseas Pakistani, played a key role in exposing the controversy involving former prime minister Imran Khan and the alleged misappropriation of gifts from the state repository.
Farooq is among 104 individuals, both Pakistani and foreign, who will receive civil awards in recognition of their services.
The awards will be presented during a ceremony on March 23, 2025, honouring contributions in various fields, including public service, bravery, and distinguished services.
