Although reality star Kylie Jenner officially changed her son’s name to Aire after initially announcing it as Wolf, there was a third name in consideration “for a long time.”
The 27-year-old makeup mogul revealed in her September cover story for British Vogue, published on Tuesday, that she had also been calling her baby boy Knight.
“My daughter, [Stormi], still to this day, is like, ‘Do you remember when Aire’s name was Knight?’” the “Kardashians” star said.
When her 6-year-old daughter insists that she prefers that name for her brother, Jenner jokingly responds, “You know what, we are not doing this again.”
The former "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star shared that she felt “like such a failure” when she struggled to name Aire after his birth in February 2022.
She initially announced the name Wolf on Instagram but later decided to change it.
“FYI OUR SONS NAME ISN’T WOLF ANYMORE,” the Kylie Cosmetics creator clarified in March 2022. “WE JUST DIDN’T REALLY FEEL LIKE IT WAS HIM.”
Jenner was experiencing “major baby blues,” telling the magazine she got “emotional over things that [she] probably wouldn’t be that emotional about” typically.
“When I met him, he was just the most beautiful thing to me and I couldn’t believe just how perfect he was,” she explained. “He deserved so much more than that. It just really triggered me.”
The entrepreneur shared her uncertainty during Season 1 of her family’s show, mentioning that she was "waiting and simmering" a new name.
In March 2023, she and Scott, 33, officially filed to change their child's name to Aire.
