Halle Berry, the acclaimed actress known for her role as Storm in the original X-Men trilogy, recently revealed that she was not approached to reprise her iconic character in the film 'Deadpool & Wolverine.' In an interview with Comicbook.com, Berry shared that despite her interest in returning as Storm, Ryan Reynolds, the film’s star and producer, never reached out to her. Berry recalled a conversation with Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, who asked if she would consider appearing in the film. "I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show, and she said, ‘Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?’ I said, ‘Yeah, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me," Berry explained.

Fans had speculated that 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' starring Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, would feature a significant presence of X-Men characters as a tribute to the Fox-era Marvel films. However, the film instead included supporting characters like Pyro and Sabretooth, leaving out major X-Men members, including Berry’s Storm.

Berry’s absence from the film has sparked disappointment among fans, particularly given her character’s rich history with Jackman’s Wolverine. The film, which includes notable performances by Lively as Lady Deadpool and Jennifer Garner as Elektra, would have further benefited from Berry’s return, especially in the context of Wolverine’s alternate universe backstory.

Meanwhile, Berry is set to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming Netflix film 'The Union,' scheduled for release on August 16, 2024. Wahlberg, who plays her childhood sweetheart in the movie, described their on-screen romance as "every guy’s fantasy" in an interview with Fox News Digital. The film promises to be a mix of character-driven drama and dynamic action, featuring a strong supporting cast that includes Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and J.K. Simmons.
