Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who was beaten by Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem at the Paris Olympics, has departed for Germany to seek medical advice, as confirmed by the Indian Olympic Association.

According to reports from Indian media, Chopra, who secured a silver medal with a throw of 89.65 meters, will be staying in Germany for about six weeks.

Family sources have indicated that the 2021 Olympic champion has been struggling with a persistent back injury, which affected his performance at the Paris Games.

Despite the injury, Chopra managed to compete and clinched the second position.

At the Paris Olympics, Arshad Nadeem claimed the gold medal in the javelin throw event with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters, outpacing Chopra, who took silver.
