Sindh government’s senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the provincial government is in discussions with the federal authorities to address the issue of high electricity bills, promising that the public will soon receive good news.

Speaking during a press conference, Sharjeel highlighted that the soaring electricity bills have become a major issue across Pakistan, with many citizens unable to afford them.

He assured that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has engaged with the federal government to find a solution, and relief for the public is on the horizon.

He also criticised previous governments for halting projects initiated by former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, emphasizing that affordable electricity can be produced using Thar coal.

He stressed that Thar has the potential to shoulder the burden of the entire country’s energy needs, with electricity being generated at Rs11 per unit from Thar and Rs9 per unit from Nooriabad.

He further noted that the PPP leadership is actively working to pull the country out of crisis and provide much-needed relief to the public.
