ISLAMABAD:

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain on Monday remanded former parliamentarian Ali Wazir in police custody for 5 days in a case filed under the country's anti-terrorism law.

The police had requested a 15-day physical remand of Pakhtun nationalist leader in the case registered at Islamabad's Secretariat Police Station.

Meanwhile, a trial court deferred hearing on a post arrest bail application of Ali Wazir in a drug and illegal weapon case due to non-appearance of the investigation officer in the case.

The hearing of the post-arrest bail application was conducted by Duty Additional and Sessions Judge Muhammad Sohail Sheikh. The investigating officer did not appear in court, and due to the unavailability of police records, the hearing was postponed without any proceedings.

The court sought the case record and adjourned the hearing until August 15.
