KARACHI:

Pakistan was established on the basis of Islamic ideology which was unfortunately neglected by those in the corridors of power, said Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Munem Zafar while addressing the minority conference organised by party's minority wing.

Zafar said after the creation of Pakistan, it was propagated that Islam and politics are different subjects. Islam ensures peace and rights for minorities. He cited Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that it is the responsibility of the state to safeguard worship places of Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities.

He further said that a large number of Hindu, Sikh, Christian and other people live in Karachi peacefully.
