Streamer Norme has made headlines by breaking the no-sleep Guinness World Record, staying awake for 264 hours and 56 minutes during a viral live stream that concluded on Rumble. The attempt, which faced multiple platform bans and sparked concerns for Norme’s wellbeing, ended with police and emergency services being called to his location.

Norme initially set out to stay awake for 12 days, aiming to surpass the previous record of 453 hours, though Guinness no longer officially recognizes such attempts due to the significant health risks involved. After being removed from YouTube and Kick due to the controversial nature of his stream, Norme continued his challenge on Rumble, where he eventually achieved his goal.

The marathon session was not without interruptions. Norme described a police welfare check as “swatting” when officers arrived to ensure his safety. Later, an ambulance was also called to assess his condition as concerns for his health grew. Despite these interruptions, Norme reached his target with 9,000 viewers watching live.

Norme officially ended his stream after surpassing 264 hours of continuous wakefulness. Reflecting on the experience, he indicated plans to return to streaming on Twitch after he has had time to recover.

The previous record for staying awake, held by Robert McDonald at 453 hours and 40 minutes, has remained unchallenged in official records since Guinness stopped monitoring such attempts in 1997 due to the dangers they pose to human health. Unlike previous record-holders, Norme’s attempt did not involve medical supervision, raising significant concern among viewers and officials.
