The Punjab government's Azadi float is in the final stage of completion at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, which will depart for Lahore on August 10 (today).

Punjab Arts Council (PAC), Rawalpindi Director Sajjad Hussain while giving a briefing about the float said the float is 60 feet long, after covering a distance of more than 300km with stopovers at four cities, it will reach Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14.

He said the entire representation of Pakistan has been shown on the float. "Besides Minar-e-Pakistan, the models of Quaid's Residency in Balochistan, Khyber Pass in KP, Quaid's mausoleum in Sindh, Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir and Bomburit Masjid in Gilgit-Baltistan have also been made.

The height of the Minar-e-Pakistan model is 20 feet, whereas other models are 16 feet high approximately," he said.

Sajjad added that the float would start its journey from Rawalpindi on August 10, and after going around the city the whole night, it would reach Gujar Khan on August 11 in the morning and would reach Jhelum city on the same day.
