Fahd Haroon appointed as Special Assistant to PM Shehbaz
Fahd Haroon has been appointed as Minister of State and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Fahd has previously served in similar capacities, including as Minister of State/Special Assistant to the Caretaker Prime Minister, and as SAPM/Minister of State on Public Communication and Digital Platforms in the Shehbaz Sharif-led PDM government.
He also held the role of Focal Person to the Prime Minister on Information Analytics and served as Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister on Media Affairs.
Haroon has held prominent leadership roles in both international and local media organizations. His positions have included Chairman of the Press and Electronic Media Committee of the FPCCI and membership in the Pakistan Broadcasters Association.
His extensive expertise spans media (both broadcast and digital), IT, management, communications, and regulatory affairs on a national and international level. This experience has provided him with deep insights into the digital media landscape and its global implications for Pakistan.
As one of Pakistan’s most senior and respected media figures, Fahd Haroon brings a wealth of experience to his new role, and his reputation as a global authority is well-established. He also serves on the advisory committees of several prominent educational institutions, and his leadership has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Fahd Haroon is the son of the late Fariha Razak and the grandson of the late Nishat Afza, both of whom were influential media personalities and former parliamentarians in Pakistan.
