Pakistani actor and entrepreneur Nadia Hussain Khan was recently invited as a guest on The Nakash Khan Show, where she revealed details about the ongoing journey of her career and her life as a celebrity.
During a segment of the interview, the 45-year-old actor discussed baseless criticism that spreads callously on social media platforms until it catches the attention of the targeted celebrity.
"Sometimes, I feel it is very necessary to put people in their place," Nadia said, "so that these people do not think that they can say whatever they want to you."
"If you allow someone to talk about you like that, they start thinking that they are some hotshot who can easily silence you," she elaborated. "It's not that I am silent. If I deliberately want to ignore someone, I will do it. But whenever I want to address something, I will do that, too. Just to tell you, 'Shut up,' and [that] you can't say that to me."
Nadia's unabashed discussion on hate speech is significant as it raises awareness on the malady of cyber bullying that plagues celebrities all over the world.
The supermodel also avoids censoring her deportment on social media, as a number of her Instagram posts contain lighthearted, profane language, despite the account being used primarily for business purposes.
Her nonchalant bearing is reflective of how airily she engages with criticism, a trait that aids her capabilities as a television actor and host.
Nadia's carefree attitude extends to how spiritedly she leads her life. At another point in the interview, she mentioned juggling her college life with her career. An example she gave was taking a flight after college to multiple cities and returning home on yet another flight, the same day.
"The fashion industry used to be very picky, but that's changing," she also said. "Everyone has the opportunity to become an influencer, and I think that's fine because of the rising demand."
