Tim Nielsen appointed as Pakistan Test team's high-performance coach

The Australian joins Pakistan's coaching staff ahead of Test series against Bangladesh

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Australia's Tim Nielsen as the new high-performance coach for the red-ball team.

This strategic move aims to enhance the team's preparation and performance ahead of their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

Nielsen joins forces with red-ball coach Jason Gillespie as part of the sports staff, with the duo already collaborating on the Pakistan Shaheens' training camp. The camp is gearing up for the Test series, which is set to begin on August 11.

Pakistan will face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, with the first Test scheduled in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, followed by the second Test in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.

Tim Nielsen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked alongside Jason Gillespie in South Australian cricket.

Recently, the PCB selection committee announced the national team's and Shaheens' squads for the upcoming matches against Bangladesh and the Bangladesh ‘A’ team.

The PCB has named a 17-member Pakistan squad for the ICC World Test Championship fixtures against Bangladesh. The selection committee also unveiled the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming four-day matches against Bangladesh-A, with Saud Shakeel appointed as captain.

The first four-day match begins on August 10, with the second scheduled for August 17.
